Getting Started with Velocity

Velocity is a lighting-fast, cross-browser text expander that puts privacy first. By combining local storage with end-to-end encrypted synchronization, you get the speed of a local app with the convenience of the cloud.

Installation

  1. Visit the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons store.
  2. Click Add to Chrome or Add to Firefox.
  3. Pin the Velocity icon to your browser toolbar for quick access.

Creating Your First Snippet

Once installed, click the Velocity icon in your toolbar:

  1. Click the + (New Snippet) button.
  2. Enter a Trigger (e.g., greet).
  3. Enter the Body (e.g., Hello! How can I help you today?).
  4. Click Save.

Using Your Snippets

Go to any website (like Gmail or Notion) and type your trigger followed by a Space. Velocity will instantly replace the trigger with your snippet's body!
